Maine’s legislative session has finally ended. I watched as the governor’s vetoes stopped legislation that would have addressed challenging issues for everyone. I believe in compromise. I know we all don’t get what we want. The partisan approach that has taken over both the state and federal government is so disheartening. I believe in the government and in the people who sacrifice so much to serve.

What I don’t understand is why elected officials can’t reach across the aisle for the good of all residents who call Maine home. I see hope for the future, because in District 66 there is a representative who listens to her constituents and is willing to reach across the aisle.

I am voting to re-elect Jessica Fay. In these times of party over policy, she is someone who represents the people in her district.

She has earned my vote.
