WILTON — Edna Tyler Rose, 82, a resident of Wilton and formerly of Livermore, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, at her home. She was born June 1, 1936, in Wilton, the daughter of Alton W. Tyler and Mildred (Welch) Tyler.

Edna graduated from Wilton High School in 1954 and received her associate’s degree at the University of Maine at Farmington. At the age of 64, she received her master’s degree from Springfield College. On Jan. 11, 1957, she married Thomas Rose in Livermore Falls.

Edna was the president of BPW, a selectman for the town of Livermore Falls and was an active member of the Gibbs Mill Road Church in Livermore. She just recently had joined the North Jay Grange. She enjoyed going to lunch with her friend, Caroline, going for rides with her niece, Janice, and her daughter, Irene, shopping, cuddling with her cat, Jack and loved talking with her son, Adrien, and his wife, Sue. She loved it when her great-granddaughter, Haley, came to visit and vacuum for her, loved going to church and listening to Warren Forbes and having brunch after church, and she also liked collecting pictures of the Lord Jesus. Edna loved her family deeply and spent as much time as possible with them, no matter where they may be.

She is survived by her children, Irene Rose, Adrien Rose and his wife, Susan, Faith Rose, Shelly Rose and Woodrow Rose and his wife, Tina; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Doreen Mitchell.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Walter Begin; and her siblings, Merna Harris and Dennis and Barbara Tyler.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at Finley Funeral Home, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls.Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. Interment at Maine Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
