PARIS — A Rumford woman pleaded guilty Tuesday afternoon in Oxford County Superior Court to two counts of felony drug trafficking.
Eve Roberts, 48, was arrested in June 2016, along with four other people, on several drug-related charges, including three counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, a single count of conspiracy to commit aggravated trafficking and a misdemeanor count of violating conditions of release.
In exchange for a guilty plea, the state dropped all five charges and instead charged Roberts with two counts of Class B unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs, felonies punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
A clerk at Oxford County Superior Court said Roberts’ sentencing is set for Jan. 11, 2019.
Roberts and four other residents in the River Valley were arrested following a months-long investigation into areas in Rumford designated by police as Hot Spots.
Following the arrests, Rumford Police Chief Stacy Carter said Operation Hot Spots was a collaboration among local, county, state and federal law enforcement to address the increasing criminal activity in the region.
He said Roberts’ charges were aggravated due to the crimes occurring in a Drug Free Zone.
