AUBURN — Etienne Crousle had a hat trick as the Twin City Thunder defeated the Springfield Pics 5-3 for the second straight night at Norway Savings Bank Arena.
Crousle gave the Thunder a 1-0 lead 7:45 into the game on the power play off assists by Derrick Trudeau and Zach Desmarais.
Springfield’s Mike Wilson tied the contest up at 1-1 with a power-play tally at the 13:15 mark of the opening period. Desmarais put the Thunder up 2-1 heading into the second period, scoring with 4:16 remaining in the first.
The teams traded goals in the second stanza. Gene Bouthiette tied the game at two at the 4:23 mark. Nick Malik put the Thunder back on top as Jeromey Rancourt notching his first point in a Thunder uniform with an assist. Noe Turdjmann notched the Pics’ third goal.
Crousle scored on the power play again with 2:40 remaining in the second. Nick Malik and Aleksi Petrow recorded the assists.
Crousle added the insurance marker with 7:50 remaining in the game, with Rancourt picking up another assist.
