WATERVILLE — A man’s body was discovered Thursday morning at the train trestle off North Street.

Waterville police responded to reports around 11 a.m. of a body being found near train tracks.

The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit was summoned to investigate as well as railroad police, because the body was on Pan Am Railways property.

Emergency dispatch reports from police on scene described the situation as an unattended death.

Authorities had that area of North Street shut down and were re-routing traffic.

This story will be updated.
