FARMINGTON — A Franklin County grand jury indicted a Wilton woman Wednesday, accused of setting a fire that destroyed her boyfriend’s home Aug. 6 in Farmington.

Angie E. Clark, 38, was charged with arson and aggravated criminal mischief.

Clark told a state fire investigator Aug. 7  that she ignited trash in her boyfriend Robert Nadeau’s house at 732 Industry Road, according to the affidavit of Jeremy Damren of the Office of the Maine State Fire Marshal.

Following an interview with Clark, Damren took her to a hospital for evaluation. She was released and arrested Aug. 17.

According to the affidavit, Clark and Nadeau had an argument and Nadeau left to spend the night with friends Aug. 6.

Nadeau received a text from someone saying Clark had left the house, according to the document. The person texted Nadeau again that Clark returned and left again. A few minutes later the person notified Nadeau his house was on fire. 

The last text message Nadeau received from Clark on Aug. 6 was at 9:28 p.m. It read, “You are going to have nothing just like me,” according to Damren.

The house was not insured.

At Clark’s initial appearance in Farmington District Court on Aug. 20, a defense attorney told the judge that Clark has no criminal record. Jeffrey Wilson in South Paris was appointed to represent her.

Clark is free on personal recognizance bail and a supervised release agreement. 

A conviction for arson is punishable by up to 30 years in prison; a conviction for aggravated criminal mischief is punishable by up to five years in prison.
