LEWISTON — Michael R. Donohue, 59, of Lewiston passed away unexpectedly at his home Friday, Oct. 5. Mike was the son of Gloria (Lerette) and Guy Donohue. He attended St. Joseph’s School, and graduated from Lewiston High School.

Mike was a pitcher for LHS. He was named the MVP and was the first freshman to receive the honor. Mike worked at Seabrook and Priscilla Rugs, and most recently worked at Enterprise Foundry in Lewiston for the past 21 years.

Mike truly lived life to the fullest through this Simple Pleasures chatting with family and friends spending time with animals he loved and taking care of his mother. He loves spending time at Old Orchard Beach, taking trips to Cabbage Island with his mother, Judy, and Cliff, and especially watching baseball. He was always up to date on the current stats and events surrounding his beloved teams. Mike was also very interested in current events on TV and in the newspaper, but he loved listening to music, following the Grateful Dead. Mike took extreme pride in his nieces and nephews; they were his heart and joy! In honor of Mike, we ask you take a moment to hug a loved one or do anything you love to do … time waits for no one.

Mike is survived by his mother, Gloria Donohue; siblings Carol and Larry Proteau, Barbara and Clem Gervais and Judy and Clifford Dupile; stepmother, Patricia Donohue; half-sister, Kathleen Vosmus, and Wes; and stepbrother, Tim Clark, and his wife, Joanne.

Visitation for Mike will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa St., Lewiston, with a service to be held at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mike’s memory to the American Heart Association, 51 U.S. Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074, or to the American Diabetes Association, 45 Forest Ave., Portland, ME 04101.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa St. Lewiston, www.funeralalternatives.net.
