BOSTON — Mary L. Judd, 69, of Hartford died unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 4, with her family by her side. She was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend who was loved by so many.

She was born in Harrington on May 27, 1949, the daughter of the late Marjorie (Lawrence) and Neal Kennedy. Mary was educated at local schools and graduated from Central High School in East Corinth. She started studying to become a veterinary assistant, moving from her hometown to begin working for Dr. Gallagher at the Lewiston Veterinary Clinic.

She married Nelson S. Judd of Turner on Aug. 24, 1974, and started a new career working at Callahan Brothers, where she was employed for almost 20 years. They raised two children, enjoying life together until Nelson’s passing in 2005. She later worked as a long-term administrative clerk for Gendron & Gendron, followed by Channel 10, TD Bank and most recently Deluxe (aka FISC).

Mary enjoyed morning coffee with her girlfriends and loved horses, watching animated movies and playing piano in a country band. She wrote several poems and song lyrics, some of which were sent out for publishing. She was also known for her homemade donuts.

Mary is survived by one daughter, Cindy Fournier, and her husband, Robert, and stepson, Sean, of Leeds; one son, Michael Judd, and his companion, Vanessa, his son, Damian, and their daughter, Berlynn; one brother, Lawrence Kennedy, his daughter, Letitia, his wife, Gloria, and their son, Patrick; one nephew, Stephen Coit; and one niece, Diane Riddle; and several extended family members.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Nelson S. Judd, and her sister, Marilyn Burnell.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at The Fortin Group/Plummer Merrill Funeral Home in Auburn. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, followed by the committal service at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s memory to the Buckfield Historical Society, in care of the Fortin Group Funeral Home.
