Maurice L. Laverdiere

1943 – 2018

LIVERMORE – Maurice L. Laverdiere, 75, a resident of Livermore, passed away, Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Aug. 29, 1943 in Livermore Falls, the son of Joseph Laverdiere and Leatitia (Lapointe) Laverdiere. He was a 1962 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. On April 20, 1963 he married his wife of 55 years, Faye Ann Hodgkins.

Through the years Maurice worked at Record Foundry in Livermore Falls, Bass Shoe in Wilton, saw filer at Isaacson’s Pallet Company in Livermore Falls, then worked as a long haul truck driver for 15 years and later worked as road foreman for the Town of Livermore until his retirement. He enjoyed welding and working with metal, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Ann Laverdiere of Livermore; his sons, Travis Laverdiere and his wife, Lori, of Livermore, and Tracy Laverdiere and his wife, Melissa of Ashville, N.C.; his daughters, Tammie Veniotte of Skowhegan and Terri Greenwood and her husband, Ronald, of Livermore; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; his sister, Loretta McCobb of Bath; brothers, Norman Laverdiere and his wife, Harriett, of Skowhegan, Wilfred Laverdiere and his wife, Lee, of Livermore, Roger Laverdiere and his wife, Gail, of Livermore Falls; sisters-in-law, Patricia Laverdiere of Livermore, Marie Laverdiere of Augusta and Carol Laverdiere of Norway, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Raymond, Robert and Joseph “Pete” Laverdiere.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls, Maine. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, at the funeral home.
