Wendy P. Blanchard

1949 – 2018

RUMFORD – Wendy Puiia Blanchard, 69, of Rumford, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, at the Rumford Hospital after a long period of deteriorating health. She was born in Waterville, Maine, on Sept. 19, 1949, the daughter of Dominic “Mico” and Lillace (“Billie” Burke) Puiia. She graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford where she was very active in cheerleading and the tennis team.

Wendy worked at various times for the Boise Cascade Paper Company in Rumford, Cianbro Corporation, the Oxford Credit Union and Sunday River.

Wendy was a kind and generous woman who had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a good laugh, even when it was on her. One of the proudest moments of her life was when her daughter, Deanna Blanchard, graduated from medical school and became a surgeon.
Although Wendy loved Tom Brady, and the Patriots and the Red Sox, her greatest love was for her family, especially her two little grandsons, Zane and Zack.

Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Deanna Blanchard and husband, Shereef Kishk of North Wales, Pa.; grandsons, Zane and Zack Kishk of North Wales, Pa.; a brother, Dino “Kip” Puiia and wife, Bonnie of Atlanta, Ga.; two sisters, Heidi Wakem of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, and Terri Hibbard of Brunswick, Maine; and two nieces, Tori Puiia of Atlanta, Ga., and Colby Puiia of Strasberg, Va.
