Joan B. Schiavi
1942 – 2018
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Joan B. Schiavi passed away on Oct. 13, 2018 in Jacksonville, Fla., where she had made her home. She was born in Lewiston, Maine, to the late Joseph and Juliette Schiavi, and grew up in Norway, Maine.
Joan was a graduate of New York University Sterns School of Business, manager of Crystal Lake Mobile Home Park, and developer and owner of Travel World RV Park in Clearwater. She was also the developer and owner of J B Schiavi Ceramic Supply in Clearwater. Joan was a major benefactor to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and the Suncoast Hospice in Clearwater as well as Community Hospice in Jacksonville.
She loved to travel and especially loved her little dog, Pepper, a miniature schnauzer. She lives on in the hearts of her brother, John Schiavi and spouse, Lynn; nieces, Deborah J. Cote and Katherine D. Melioris and their families; and her partner of 46 years, Patricia Sears. Burial will be in Clearwater, Fla., on Nov. 11, which was also her birthday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to hospice in Joan’s memory.
