NORWAY — Town Manager Dennis Lajoie told selectmen Thursday evening that the town has been awarded a grant to pay most of the cost of five sit-stand workstations for the Town Office.

The Safety Enhancement Grant through the Maine Municipal Association’s Risk Management Services will provide up to $1,316.67, or two-thirds of the cost, according to Donald Vickery, MMA loss control manager.

Lajoie said Varidesk, the company supplying the workstations, is offering a 30 percent discount.

“Between the grant and the discount, the desks will cost $125 a piece,” Lajoie said. “I ordered eight already, and I still need to order two more within the next 11 months. I think these desks will be great for us, from an ergonomic standpoint. Right now, we’re hunched over our desks. This will allow us to stand and stretch a little more.”

In other business, the board voted to accept $2,556.10 in grants, donations and reimbursements from the following organizations:

• $1,070 from Maine Municipal Association for employee wellness;
