TURNER — Mike Burd, a professional musician who tours nationally playing bass with Maine’s own Dave Mallett, will be the instructor at SAD 52 Adult & Community Education’s ukulele class, from 7 to 8 pm. Wednesdays, Nov. 7 through Dec. 5, at Leavitt Area High School.
Students will learn just enough of the fundamentals and basic skills to start playing simple songs. Students will be provided with simple instructional materials for class, and links to access virtually limitless royalty-free resources on the web.
Students who already have a ukulele and tuner should bring them to class. Baritones are OK, but mention this when signing up. There are a limited number of loaners available for those without a ukulele. Call 207-225-1010 after registering for class to reserve one; early registration is encouraged.
The cost of the class is $80. Register at www.msad52.maineadulted.org.
