AUBURN — Author Jack Flowers, Auburn Public Library, 2:30-3:30 p.m., talking about his book, “Rat Six,” based on true story of Army officer Clifford Price who had a dangerous job in Vietnam in 1968.

THURSDAY, Nov. 8

LEWISTON — New Beginnings, L/A Arts and Lewiston Public Library presents talk by photographer Ned Castle of the HIGHLOW Project, 6-8 p.m., Callahan Hall, Lewiston Public Library. Presentation is part of National Runaway & Homeless Youth Prevention Month in November.

SUNDAY, Nov. 11

LEWISTON — Treasures and Trinkets sale at Museum L-A, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Bates Mill. Proceeds help the museum make room for collections and benefit programming. Items include posters, prints, antique toys, furniture, textile manufacturing components.

LEWISTON — Screening and panel discussion of “Battle Company,” a film about an Army unit deployed in Afghanistan where it engaged in five or more firefights a day with numerous injuries and deaths. Panel discussion with veterans Chris Beam, Jared Golden and J. Lamar Steward, from 6:45-9 p.m., Olin Concert Hall, Bates College.
