LEWISTON —The L/A Nordiques will be honoring active military and veterans while raising money for homeless veterans with the American Legion at this weekend’s games at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

The Nordiques take on Skyland Kings on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., and the New England Stars come in Sunday for a 2 p.m. puck drop.

With the proper ID on Friday and Saturday nights, active military and veterans can receive a special discounted rate of $5 per ticket. On Sunday, active military and veterans can receive a free ticket with the proper ID.

Also this weekend, the L/A Nordiques have teamed up with the Homeless Vets to present you the Military Weekend Charity Jersey Auction. Bidding is now open.

Those interested in owning their very own L/A Nordiques specialty military charity jersey can bid from now until Sunday.

The minimum bid for each jersey is $100. Proceeds will be donated to the Homeless Vets organization. Current top bids will be updated at the end of each day in each photo’s description. Here’s how to bid:

1. The L/A Nordiques Facebook page — Find each Nordiques player’s military charity jersey in the military jersey auction album. Bid by commenting on the picture of the jersey you are interested in.

2. Private bid — Email [email protected] with private bid. Don’t forget your name, jersey number and bid amount.

3. At home games — Bidding sheets will be placed in the front lobby at the Nordiques’ home games this weekend.

Online bidding will end when the puck drops at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Live bidding will continue at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee until 20 minutes after the game ends.

The charity jerseys will be worn by L/A Nordiques players throughout the weekend. The jerseys will then be awarded to the highest bidders by the player who wore it.
