LITCHFIELD – Hanson S. Ray, 69, of 730 Richmond Rd, Litchfield, died Wednesday, Nov.  7, 2018, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Born in Lewiston on March 9, 1949, he was the son of Hanson E. and Annie Mae Rand Ray. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of ’68. On June 25, 1971, he married the love of his life, the former Penelope Kelleher.

Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated his own dairy farm in Gray while also driving a school bus for many years. Hanson enjoyed fishing, racing homing pigeons, and spending time with his grandchildren. Hanson was a big, no nonsense type of guy with a huge heart and an awesome sense of humor.

Besides his wife of Litchfield, he is survived by a daughter, Shelly and husband Foster, four sons, Kirk and wife Katie, Toby and girlfriend Kristina, Craig and wife Brianna, and Jason and wife Joy; and ten grandchildren, Tyler, Sarah, Tate, Elijah, Mackenzie, Samuel, Emma, Jeremiah, Evan, and Kaitlyn. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov.12, 2018, at the Bowdoin Center Baptist Church, 1104 Meadow Rd., Bowdoin. Condolences may be found online at www.albert-burpee.com.
