Guy A. Collins

1941 – 2018

FARMINGTON – Guy A. Collins, 77, a resident of Wilton, passed away, Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018, at Woodlands Residential Care in Farmington. He was born Sept. 16, 1941, in New Sharon, the son of Sherman Collins and Florence (Chandler) Collins. He was a graduate of Farmington High School. On Aug. 6, 1960, at the First Congregational Church in Wilton, he married the love of his life, Roberta Iris Lane. They enjoyed 51 years together before her passing in 2012.

In 1964, they started Collins Enterprises in Wilton; he was owner and operator until his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #20 in Wilton, and was a founding member of the Elks Lodge # 2430 in Farmington; he was also a member of the Maine Tow Association. He enjoyed going on cruises with his wife and traveling to see family.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a hard worker, even on holidays and was highly respected for his work ethics and dedication to his family.

He is survived by his daughters, Wanda Rollins and her husband, Stephen, of Glenburn, Sheri Duvall and her husband, Tony, of Wilton; his son, Ricky Collins and wife, Tina of Wilton; grandchildren, Chance Rollins, Alicia Duncan, Victoria Feltner, Denise Rollins, Kayla Johnson, Kelsey Gray, Ethan Derric and Eric Collins; his great-grandchildren; his sister, Sadie Fitzmaurice and her husband, Joe of King, N.C., and nieces and nephews, Rusty Fitzmaurice, Angela Coidan and Tina McLean. He was predeceased by his wife and parents.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the Woodlands staff for their compassionate care to Guy and his family. At his request there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
