John Leslie “Johnny” Bedard

1947 – 2018

NORWAY – John Leslie “Johnny” Bedard, 71, of Sumner, died early Thursday morning, Nov. 8, 2018 at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway.

He was born on April 11, 1947, in Sumner, the son, of Joseph and Isabel (Farris) Bedard. He was educated in local schools and went on to serve honorably in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. During his service he was also stationed in Iceland and Spain.

Upon his return to the United States in 1971, Johnny went to work in the woods and did so for Phil Adams for a number of years. He later worked at CB Cummings and did so until it closed and failing health prevented him from working any longer.

As a young man he enjoyed hunting and later in life it was NASCAR and the Red Sox that he was a fan of.

Johnny is survived by his siblings, Leroy, Lenny, Yvonne, Pauline, Carolyn and her husband, David, Arlene, Shirley, and Kathy; aunts, Jody and Jane; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Stacy and Joseph; nephews, Danny, Clifford, Timmy and Jeff.

Memorial services will be held, 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018 at the East Sumner Congregational Church. Interment will be at the Elmwood Cemetery in East Sumner.
