LEWISTON — Six popular duets from Maine will perform at Denny Breau’s Happy Together concert to support improvements at Lewiston’s Pettingill School Park.

The Nov. 25 show will be his fifth to benefit the park project spearheaded by Friends of Pettingill. It will run from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Dolard & Priscilla Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St. in Lewiston

Denny will perform with his wife, Ann Breau, a flautist with jazz and classical training who often shares the stage with him. Other duoes are singer Kathy Haley and pianist Phil House, country-folk duo Donnie Katlin and Jewel Clark of Bethel, Frank Coffin and Malinda Liberty, country and honky-tonk duo Mike Preston and Kim Curry of Poland, and bluegrass musicians Ken & Jane Brooks of Athens.

The Happy Together theme is a fitting description of the six duos and the music they will play.

Pettingill School Park at 411 College St. is the newest playground and greenspace in the Twin Cities. Many of the improvements have been purchased through Friends of Pettingill financial campaigns. Vice Chairman Bill Maroldo has worked with Denny on all the shows and said it’s their biggest fundraiser.

“We would not have been able to accomplish so much at the park without the support of Denny and his many musician friends,” Maroldo said.

The Lenny Breau Pergola, a tribute to Denny’s renowned jazz guitarist brother, is one of the park’s most iconic structures and was built by students from the Lewiston Regional Technical Center.

The park has co-hosted the Police Department’s Movie Night in the Park, the annual Bike to School Day, Maine Arbor Week projects and other community events since 2010.

Tickets for Happy Together are $20 per person and available on the Franco Center website.
