BETHEL — The Mahoosuc Community Band will present a Christmas concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at the West Parish Congregational Church.

Other songs include “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” by Frank Loesser, “The Eighth Candle” by Steve Reisteter, which is a prayer and dance for Hanukkah, “On This Day Earth Shall Ring” by Gustzv Holst, “Christmas Fanfare” by Todd Staller and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” by Albert Hague.

The concert will also feature a vibraphone for “Waltz of the Flowers” from “The Nutcracker Suite III” by Tchaikovsky.

The audience may join in singing the “Hallelujah Chorus” by Handel and arranged by Jack Bullock. Traditional favorites include “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane, “Blue Christmas” by Billy Hayes and Jay Johnson, and “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson.

Patricia Boyle-Wight directs the community band, which includes people of all ages from Bethel, Dixfield, Greenwood, Hanover, Rumford, South Paris and  Woodstock, and Berlin, N.H.

The community band practices from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Mondays in the church basement. Rehearsals for the spring concert start Jan. 7, 2019. New members are always welcome.
