LEWISTON — School Committee, workshop at 6 p.m., meeting at 6:45 p.m. at McMahon Elementary School. On agenda: resignation letter from Francis Gagnon as committee chairman, nominations for new chairman; consideration of changes to early-release due to inclement weather, update on MEA results and proficiency based learning.

LEWISTON — FEZtival of Trees fundraiser at Kora Temple Shriner Center, 11 Sabattus St. Christmas trees on display, craft fair, visit with Santa, admission $2, children under 12 free. Open every day this week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., except Thanksgiving Day. Last day is Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

AUBURN — Talk titled “My Life in the Peace Corps” by Peace Corps volunteer Selena Wallace sharing her experience in the Philippines, 3-4 p.m., Auburn Public Library.

LEWISTON-AUBURN — Thanksgiving break for Lewiston-Auburn students begins; classes resume Nov. 26.

LEWISTON-AUBURN — Twin Cities Holiday Celebration, 2 to 7:30 p.m. Fun begins in Auburn with free screening of “Polar Express” from 2 to 4 p.m. at the public library; Santa lights the Auburn Christmas tree at 5 p.m. at Festival Plaza; Parade of Lights from Festival Plaza to Kennedy Park in Lewiston; Santa lights the Christmas tree and menorah at 7 p.m. 

At 5:15 p.m. Portland Ballet will perform scenes from “The Nutcracker” and teach steps to children at Lewiston Public Library; Dionne Entertainment will play holiday music in Kennedy Park and free horse and wagon rides by Stillbrook Acres.
