LEWISTON — Police are investigating a complaint of shots being fired early Saturday in the area of Blake Street or Pierce Street.
Varying reports put the number of shots heard from three to seven, according to Lt. David St. Pierre.
Police received a call reporting the shots shortly after 5 a.m.
Officers in the area found no apparent victims or suspects, but found spent shell casings and evidence of bullets having struck a building at 182 Blake St., St. Pierre wrote in a news release.
As of Monday, there was no indication that anyone had been injured as the result of the apparent shooting incident, St. Pierre wrote.
Detectives are continuing with the investigation and police are urging anyone with any information about the incident to call the department and ask for David Levesque at 207-513-3001, ext. 3313.
