JAY — The entryway of a building at Jewell Street and Route 4 was taken out by an SUV on Tuesday morning, police Sgt. Russell Adams said.
Rachel Ouellette, 51, escaped injury when her 2006 Jeep slid into the building that houses the Scissor Wizard on Jewell Street, Adams said. It had started snowing and the road was slick, he said.
Adams was assisted by Jay Police Chief Richard Caton IV and Jay Fire Rescue Department at the 10 a.m. accident.
It is the second time in two years the building, which is owned by Jerry Marstaller and has an upstairs apartment, has been hit by a vehicle, Adams said.
