Ange Emile Marquis

 

1930 – 2018

 

LEWISTON – Ange Emile Marquis, 88, formerly of 4 Valley Street in Lewiston, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born in St. Gedeon, Quebec on July 21, 1930 the son of Alfred and Amanda (Gilbert) Marquis. He married Huguette Tanguay on Aug. 4, 1956, who passed away on Dec. 27, 2013 and raised five children.

He was a carpenter until he retired. As a carpenter he built many houses in the Lewiston area and has made many souvenirs for his family that they will treasure forever. He was always there to help anyone completing a project and eager to give his advice. As he got older he loved to supervise the projects. He enjoyed his visits from his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He participated in many activities at Odd Fellows.

Survivors include, three sons, Francois and wife Gail, Roger and wife Patty and Steve and companion Debbie; two daughters, Sue and husband Scott and Nancy and husband Phil; eight grandchildren, Daniel and wife Whitney, Kayla and husband Geoff, Jamie and companion Dave, Keith and companion Katie, Eric, Chad and wife Elise, Ryan and companion Devon and Sierra; six great grandchildren Brianna, Khloe and Wyatt, Blake, Bryan and Teddy; two sisters Alfreda Mercier and Marielle Tanguay.

Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Ovilda and Magloire; and three sisters, Cecile, Simone and Aurielle.

The family would like to thank the staff at Odd Fellows for the care they gave to Emile.

A Funeral Mass honoring Ange Emile’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at 11 a.m., at Holy Cross Church. Burial will be private at St. Peter’s Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston.
