Restrictions on the purchase of sugar for consumption in homes and public eating places were removed Tuesday night by the Food Administration.

50 years ago: 1968

The annual Dairy Day Parade will be held in Lewiston and Auburn on Saturday, May 24, 1969, according to a decision reached last night during a meeting of the Maine Dairy Club at the home of the president, Mrs. Hazel Hotham of Auburn. Norman Wing of Winthrop, Harold Libby of Auburn and Herbert Waterman of New Gloucester were named to nominate committee heads for the event.

25 years ago: 1993

This year the Edward Little Playhouse and Walton Drama Club are presenting “Annie Get Your Gun” written by Irving Berlin. Portraying the six main characters are Karen Sprowles, Annie Oakley; Cheryl Hamilton, Dolly Tate; Michael French, Buffalo Bill; Michael Blake, Frank Butler; David Townsend, Charlie Davenport; and Philip Guerette as Sitting Bull.
