PORTLAND – Lorraine Yvette Carrier-Lacasse died peacefully while receiving the Last Rites of the Catholic Church on Dec. 4, 2018, at St. Joseph Manor in Portland.

Lorraine Carrier was born May 20, 1933, to Joseph and Josephine (Landry) Carrier and grew up in New Auburn. She graduated from Edward Little High School. Her entire life was as a loving wife, dedicated mother, and homemaker.

She married Arthur Joseph Lacasse on June 25, 1955, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Auburn. Arthur and Lorraine purchased an apartment building in Auburn where they lived together for 25 years. Later they purchased a home in Lewiston where they finished raising their family.

She is survived by her husband; her daughter-in-law Rebecca, and seven sons, Normand and Charmaine Lacasse, Gerard and Rose Lacasse, James and Fay Lacasse, Rev. Andre-Joseph Lacasse, O.P., Jeffrey Lacasse, Steven and Amy Lacasse, Brian and Jenn Lacasse; grandchildren;, and great- grandchildren; brother Lionel and Jeannine Carrier, brother-in-law Maurice Lavoie, and sister-in-law Florence Lacasse; nieces and nephews.

She is preceded by her parents; her son Daniel Lacasse; her siblings, Bertrand Carrier,  Camille and Yvette Carrier, Camille and Rita Ouellette, Rev. Lucien Carrier, Albert and Lucille Carrier, Muriel and Felix Lacasse, Jacqueline Lavoie; her in-laws Eugene and Odelie Lacasse; brothers-in-law Leo and Emile Lacasse, and sister-in-law Yvonne Lacasse.

Visitation Fortin Auburn Sunday Dec. 9 from 4 – 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by her son, Rev. LaCasse, O.P. will take place at the Basilica of S.S. Peter and Paul in Lewiston, on Dec. 10, at 1 p.m. Internment at St. Peter’s Cemetery to follow.
