BRUNSWICK — First Light Camera Club, a group of photographers who have been meeting in the Brunswick area for the past 25 years, hosts a show of members’ work at the Morrell Meeting Room in Curtis Memorial Library throughout the month of December. The exhibit is on view now through Dec. 28,  and the public is invited to peruse the work of this active group of photographers.

FLCC meets regularly throughout the year and consists of an interesting mix of beginning and advanced photographers. Members may elect to shoot to a different theme every week for “Project 52,” then share results on Facebook in order to learn from each other. Photos are occasionally critiqued by colleagues with an eye toward improving skills.

Members may also take part in photo outings and field trips and learn by watching others. Often, club members are out photographing in all types of weather, times of day and night, and locations for their own personal gratification. Themes that photographers concentrate on include landscape, astrophotography, portraits, wildlife, farm life, artists and studios, abstracts, black and white, infrared, street and more. From time to time, an opportunity comes along to exhibit, and work is submitted, juried, finalized for presentation, and then installed for the public’s enjoyment. Exhibited work is also available for purchase.

Photographers showing include: Nancy Greindl, Topsham; Gordon Alley, Warren; Dick Tarr, Vassalboro; Bill Boyd, Topsham; Prisca Kenison, Brunswick; Donna Salko, Brunswick; Rob Smith, Harpswell; Craig Snapp, Brunswick; Norma Warden, Auburn; Karen Kurkjian, Pownal; Corrie Zacharias, Falmouth; Rich Reynolds, Cushing; Linda Cullivan, Scarborough; Denley Poor-Reynolds, Freeport; and Linda Alschuler, Cumberland.

The club currently has about 70 members and always seeks new people to get involved.

Curtis Memorial Library is at 23 Pleasant St., and limited parking is available on Pleasant Street and in a dedicated lot off Union Street. Library hours are: Monday-Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
