HEBRON – Ethel Louise McKenzie, 83, a resident of Buckfield Road, passed away peacefully Sunday Dec. 9, 2018, at her home with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Turner, May 28, 1935, the daughter of Fred and Nora (Collins) Dyer.

Ethel was educated in Auburn Schools. She met and married the love of her life and soulmate, Robert McKenzie on Nov. 29, 1952 in Auburn. Together they raised eight children, and was a homemaker all her life.

She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Her favorite hobbies were bird watching, family vacations, sledding parties, working in her yard, and making tie blankets for everyone.

Survivors include her children, Jeffrey of Sabattus, Cindy Jordan and husband, Dexter of Auburn, Sheila Morrison and husband, James of Auburn, Pamela Cyr and husband, Ron of Hebron, Rodney of Hebron; her grandchildren, Timothy McKenzie Jr., and Katie Travers, Jennie Butler, Jeffrey McKenzie Jr., Jessica Micquelon, Roy Jordan, Jason Morrison and Jamie Simpson, Matthew and Christopher Cyr, and Samantha Baril; as well as several great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert McKenzie Sr.; three children, Timothy, Robert Jr., Patty McKenzie-Baril.

Memorial services honoring Ethel’s life will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, December 15, at East Auburn Baptist Church 560 Park Street, Auburn. Family and friends are invited to visit one hour prior to services, at church. Burial will be held at a later date at North Auburn Cemetery.
