AUBURN – Fernande Alice (Auger) DeRosay, 104, of Auburn, passed away peacefully after a short illness at Clover Health Care surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018.

She was born in Rumford, Maine on April 21, 1914 the daughter of Archie and Bella (Bernier) Auger.

She soon moved to Lewiston and was a graduate of Lewiston High School.

She married William DeRosay on May 7, 1932 and together they had two daughters.

She was a homemaker until she and her husband opened and operated two motels the last one being Auburn Motor Inn. In 1976 they retired and sold the building which became what is now Sarah Frye. After retirement they traveled and spent winters in Naples, Florida. Both she and her husband were active members of the United Commercial Travelers (UCT).

The greatest joy in her life was being around family. She was also an avid bridge player and good health allowed her to play until she was 101.

She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years.

She is survived by her two daughters, Joan Dehetre and her husband Robert and Ann Proctor and her husband Larry; three grandchildren, Debra Dehetre Sterns and her husband William, Scott Dehetre and his wife Sylvia and Heather Proctor Camire and her husband Justin; five great-grandchildren, Jessica, Mathiew, Thomas, Mitchel and Lincoln; and two great-great-grandchildren, Theo and Fern.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Clover Health Care for the wonderful care she received during the last 18 months and also to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for the dedicated care they provided the last week of her life.

A Memorial Mass honoring Fernande’s life will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church. Committal services will then follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday from 9 a.m. unitl the time of the service at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston.
