LEWISTON – Joseph Norman Ouellette passed away Dec. 10, 2018 at age 95. He was born to Euthrope and Anna Ouellette on April 5, 1923. Having been one of 18 brothers and sisters, Joseph grew up on a farm in northern Maine and moved to southern Maine to work in the ship yards at the start of WWII. He served in the United States Army/Air Corps during WWII. Upon returning, he worked in the mills, in Lewiston, until working for 40 years at Aroostook Fence, where he retired at age 72. In 2016, Joseph was able to take the Honor Flight to Washinton D.C. with which he was very proud.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents; wife, Elizabeth (Miller); daughter, Anna Dube, sons, Robert Ouellette and Michael Ouellette; and several siblings.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra White of Lewiston; sisters, Alice Ouellette Rodrigue of Lewiston and her companion, Al Blier, and Evelyn Curless of Auburn; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Friday, December 14, at Fortin/Auburn, 217 Turner Street, Auburn. A funeral service will be held at Fortin/Auburn at 10 a.m., December 15, with a light brunch to follow at Fortin/Auburn. A committal service will take place at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta, Monday, 10 a.m. December 17.
