GILFORD, N.H. – Michael Hamlin, known to friends as “Mike,” passed away on Nov. 30, 2018, at the age of 67 years.

Originally from Waterford, Maine, he was the son of Carl Oliver and Pearl Hamlin. Mike recalled a fond childhood of family gatherings, summer days hauling hay in the fields of the family farm on Coolidge Hill, and getting into mischief with friends and siblings. After graduating from Oxford Hills High School in 1969, he continued his education at the NHVTC and became a Master Plumber and began his career in the HVAC industry.

It was in New Hampshire where he met the love of his life, Kathryn Ann Payne, whom he married on Feb. 24, 1973. His career took his family on an adventure living in Maine, California, Washington State, and eventually to his true home, at Lake Winnipesauke, N.H., where he peacefully passed away.

Mike prided himself on being honest, thoughtful, and serving others, both in his personal life and in his professional career. His love of his wife, children, children-in-law, and his grandchildren could be seen in everything he did, and his love of the Lord was undeniable. He will be most remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to not only laugh with others, but to laugh at himself.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathryn; his children, Christopher and Holly; and grandchildren, Tristan, Kyler, and Bella; as well as his mother, Pearl; five siblings; and many cousins.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Sunday, December 30, from 12-4 p.m. at the Common Man Inn, 231 Main St., Plymouth, NH 03264. Pastor Gleason will be officiating.

In lieu of donations, please hand write a few humorous or thoughtful stories you may recall of Mike, either as a child or as an adult, and bring them to the Celebration of Life or mail them to
