KINGFIELD — The Ski Museum of Maine was awarded a grant from the Maine Community Foundation to support the creation and installation of the newest exhibit in the museum, “Maine Olympians – From the Pine Tree State to the World Stage,” at our gallery located in Kingfield.

The official unveiling of this exhibit will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28. A reception will follow and refreshments will be served.

This exhibit presents the stories of Maine’s participants in each of the Winter Olympics from 1948 to present day. It portrays these individuals and explores the reasons that Maine is home to so many Nordic, Alpine skiers, jumpers and snowboarders. This exhibit will remain in place for the upcoming year.

The Ski Museum of Maine is a 501 (c3) charitable organization established in 1995 to celebrate, preserve and share Maine’s ski history and heritage. The museum exhibits artifacts, photographs, artworks and documents at its location in Kingfield.
