CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Blanche Marie Anastasia Wilson, 96, of Chesapeake, Va, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Dec. 13, 2018.

Born in Lewiston, on Jan. 22, 1922, to Reginald and Alma (Croteau) Janelle, and is the last child of 14 to join them in eternity. She was the widow of Eugene C. Wilson (37 years) and they presided in San Diego, Calif., until his death, in 2001.

She gave up her career at Ratner’s in 1965 to raise her only child, and continued on helping raise her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.  Always willing to drop her work to play games, do puzzles or watch TV with the family, she always said, “if people come to see me, what the house looks like does not matter.” Family was of utmost importance, everything else could wait.

Her Catholic faith and God guided her through life, and in her 90s she learned to use a tablet, ipad, and computer to play games. Word search books were a constant companion as she always looked to keep her mind busy. She was known to do puzzles and play games when she resided at St. Mary’s in Lewiston.

Left to cherish her memory: her daughter, Pamela Kelley and her husband, LaDon, of Chesapeake; granddaughter, Desiree Cozart of Chesapeake, grandson, Duane Cozart of Norfolk; and a great-granddaughter, Evelynn Marie Anastasia Cozart.

The family would like to thank all that helped care for her and all those that have kept the family in prayer over the years. Abundant thanks to Debbie and Charles Winslow of Comfortcare and our loving family physician, Dr. David Palmisano.

Arrangements are private. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
