The Androscoggin County Fire Association’s Firefighter of the Year award was presented to Assistant Rescue Chief George Farris of the Greene Fire Department. Presenting the award is President Ben Limerick of the ACFA at the beginning of the Dec. 12 meeting at the Sabattus Fire Department. Farris is committed to public safety and service. He has been a member of the department for 45 years and is currently assistant rescue chief and training officer, teaches CPR to local businesses and organizations and also works with United Ambulance.
