LEWISTON — The Public Theatre will present “Human Error,” a timely and provocative new comedy, for eight performances beginning Jan. 25.

Eric Pfeffinger wrote the tale of a blundering fertility doctor mistakenly implanting the embryo of a latte-sipping liberal couple into the womb of a NRA-cardholding conservative family. It’s an outrageously funny nine months as both couples attempt to become friends for the good of the child.

Performances are scheduled:

• Friday and Saturday, Jan. 25 and 26, 7:30 p.m.;

• Sunday, Jan. 27, 2 p.m.;

• Thursday and Friday, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, 7:30 p.m.;
