JAY — Cam Wood scored 13 of his game-high 22 points in the second half as Winthrop defeated Spruce Mountain 55-44 in MVC boys’ basketball action Thursday night.

Sam Figueroa added 10 points for the Ramblers (11-1), who outscored the Phoenix 19-9 in the third quarter to turn a three-point deficit into a seven-point lead.

Kayle Stewart led Spruce Mountain (9-2) with 15 points, while Tate Walton chipped in nine.

Boothbay 82, Oak Hill 40

WALES — Boothbay took a 33-point lead into halftime and coasted to an 82-40 boys’ basketball win over Oak Hill on Thursday.

Nine Boothbay (10-1) players scored and five reached double figures. Steve Reny’s 14 points led the way, while Kaleb Ames and Hunter Crocker each scored 12.

Gavin Rawstron of Oak Hill (3-8) did his part, hitting 13 field goals for 31 points. Caden Thompson added five points.

Dirigo 61, Carrabec 27

NORTH ANSON — Jeremy St. Germain scored 29 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as Dirigo rolled to a 61-27 boys’ basketball win over Carrabec on Thursday.

Chandler Redmond added eight points for the Cougars (5-6).

Hunter Tewskbury led the Cobras (0-12) with 10 points and Nikkolas Dube had nine.

Mountain Valley 90, Lisbon 52

RUMFORD — Mountain Valley scored 56 points in the first half en route to a 90-52 boys’ basketball win over Lisbon on Thursday.

Keegan Davis hit 11 field goals and scored 27 points for Mountain Valley (10-1). Casey Cormier added 13 points and Will Bean had 12 for the Falcons.

Lisbon (7-5) trailed by 15 points after the first quarter and didn’t have enough firepower to keep up with the Falcons. DJ Douglass hit six 3-pointers to score 22 for the Greyhounds. Corey Weirs tacked on 10 points in the loss.

Mt. Abram 52, Madison 38

MADISON — The Roadrunners exploded for a 24-point fourth quarter en route to the MVC win Thursday.

Nate Luce had 18 points to lead Mt. Abram, and Hunter Warren added 12.

Thomas Dean paced Madison with a 10-point night. Both teams are now 5-7.

Girls’ basketball

Mt. Blue 53, Leavitt 30

FARMINGTON — Mt. Blue added onto its eight-point lead at halftime to run away with a 53-30 win over Leavitt in girls’ basketball play Thursday.

Lexi Mittelstadt scored a game-high 13 points, including three treys, for Mt. Blue (5-6). Jacelyn Daggett chipped in 12 in the win.

Kayleigh Gilbert scored 10 points to pace Leavitt (4-7).
