LEWISTON – Elisabeth (Elsie) Roux, 85, of Lewiston, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019, at the Hospice House in Auburn with her family by her side. Elsie was born in Cham (Bavaria) Germany.  She married Donald Roux, who was stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army, in 1956. The two enjoyed 28 years as a military couple stationed in France, Belgium, Germany, and various army bases state side. She and her husband returned to live in Maine in 1982. Elsie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Family was the most important part of her life. She was a member of ladies’ bowling leagues for many years. She enjoyed watching golf on TV.  Elsie worked as a volunteer at Saint Vincent de Paul store in Lewiston for more that 25 years. Elsie served as a Eucharistic minister for many years with local parishes. She was currently a member of Prince of Peace Parish SS Peter & Paul Basilica.

Elsie is survived by her husband; her son, Norman and his wife, Sharon; and three grandsons, Benjamin in Colorado, Joshua and Jesse in Maine. Visiting hours will be held at the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home on Friday, January 25, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home on Saturday, 11 a.m. Interment, St. Peter’s Cemetery.  Donations and condolences may be found online at www.albert-burpee.com.
