BUCKFIELD — Kathryn Henderson had 11 points to pace Buckfield to a 40-20 victory over Kents Hill in a girls’ basketball contest Wednesday.

Hannah Shields chipped in with eight points for the Bucks (5-7).

Jarni Hewins led Kents Hill (2-7) with eight points, while Alanna Bachelder had seven.

Boys’ basketball

Leavitt 51, Fryeburg 40

TURNER — Wyatt Hathaway had 21 points to lead Leavitt to a 51-40 victory over Fryeburg Academy in boys’ basketball action Wednesday.

Joziah Learned added 14 points for the Hornets (12-1).

Tucker Buzzell led the Raiders (6-7) with 13 points, while Eli Mahan had 10.

Thornton 72, Lewiston 41

SACO — Payton Jones scored 10 of his 16 points in the first quarter as the Trojans (10-4) raced out to a 24-6 lead against Lewiston (2-11).

Thornton’s smothering team defense continued in the second quarter as the lead grew to 40-13 by halftime.

Hassan Hussein led the Blue Devils with 15 points.
