Jan Bielau-Nivus of Rome takes a selfie Sunday afternoon with “Flash,” the sloth being held by handler Catalina Vargas at the Foundation for Animal Rescue and Education’s First Natural History Exhibition at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston. Bielau-Nivus, a sloth enthusiast, was excited to take a photograph with a real sloth. Bielau-Nivus said she loves that sloths take their time and are slow and deliberate. She also loves sloths’ faces because they look happy. The popular event extended its hours Sunday to accommodate a large turnout. (Sun Journal photo by Andree Kehn)
