LEWISTON – John H. Sargent, 61, a resident at Russell Park Nursing Home, in Lewiston, died peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019.

John was born on April 6, 1957, in Bridgton, the fourth born child of Forrest and Clara Sargent.

John grew up in Sebago, and later in life, moved to Auburn, then spent many years living in Nevada, until he came back to Maine where he resided in the Auburn/Lewiston area.

John was a passionate sports fan, and faithfully watched the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Another favorite pastime of John’s was his love of hunting and fishing. John belonged to and helped bartend at the Lenational Club, in Lewiston .

John is survived by his two children, J.J. (John Jr.) Sargent and his wife, Jodi, Samantha Aspinall and her husband, Wayne; his six grandchildren, Dakota White, Kayedn White, Nathan White, Tristan White, Tricia White, and Jaelyne Sargent; his five siblings, Brian Thompson and his wife, Dorothy, Linda Fraser and her husband, Roger, Charles Sargent and his wife, Doreene, Mark Sargent and his wife, Kammy, Terry McAllister and her husband, Russell. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

John was predeceased by his partner, Loreen Heath (2011) who he adored; and parents Forrest and Clara Sargent.

A memorial service honoring John’s life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m., at Gracelawn Memorial Park, in Auburn, with Pastor Greg Morgan officiating. After the memorial service all are welcome to stay for lunch and sharing fond memories of John.
