LEWISTON – Lucia E. Thibodeau, 85, of Lewiston, passed away on Thursday Jan. 24, 2019, at Montello Manor in Lewiston with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 18, 1933 in Chatierville, Canada, the daughter of the late Conrad and Germaine (Leclair) Duquette.
On Jan. 9, 1960, she married the love of her life, Lucien P. Thibodeau at Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston, now known as The Basilica of Ss. Peter and Paul. She worked at The Dewitt Hotel, St. Mary’s Hospital and at St. Casimir Health Care from which she retired in 1993.
She enjoyed listening to Country music and her French music on Sunday mornings as well as sewing and spending time with family and friends. Her greatest passion in life though was knitting. She knitted blankets, hats, scarfs and her very favorite were the mittens she knitted for the kids in the community.
Lucia is survived by her daughter Claudette Marcoux and husband Kevin of Augusta, her son Daniel Thibodeau of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Robby Marcoux and wife Stephanie, Clinton Michael, Ashley Thibodeau, Alex Thibodeau; two brothers Leonard Duquette, Constant Duquette, three sisters Helen Robert, Micheline Belisle, Lorraine Duquette; many nieces and nephews; and three very special friends, Michelle Welch of Augusta, Jack and Estelle Theriault of Augusta.
Besides her parents, Lucia was predeceased by her husband, Lucien Thibodeau and a brother, Fernand Duquette.

Visitation will be held at The Fortin Group Funeral Home in Lewiston on Wednesday, Jan. 30 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Jan. 31 at The Basilica of Ss. Peter and Paul (lower chapel¬) at 11:00 p.m. Committal services will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston at the mausoleum.
