POLAND – Henry Peter Degen III, 41 years old, passed away on Jan. 23, 2019. He passed away in Poland, Maine. Henry was born in Lewiston on Nov. 28 1977, son of James Henry Degen, Sr. and Patricia Quinn Degen.

Henry went back to school and received his high school diploma in 2010. He was the husband of Tina Bilodeau Degen. They shared 6 1/2 years of marriage together. He was employed with Roland’s Drywall as a Carpenter. Henry was a member of Maine Local 352, New England Regional Council of Carpenters for many years.

Henry enjoyed all things outdoors. He was an avid motocross rider in his younger years and taught his three boys how to ride and often rode with them. He loved playing frisbee disc golf with his sons and his late brother Bruce. Henry loved to go camping, hiking, fishing and snowmobiling with his boys. They all loved to explore and adventure. Kayaking was one of his favorite outdoor activities. He was very fond of nature and loved being out on the serene lakes and ponds that he often kayaked on with his wife and family.

Let us not forget the love that Henry had for his 1977 White Stingray Corvette. He put his heart and soul into this car and often drove it like he stole it. It was his pride and joy and brought so much fun to his life. Henry was also a life-long skilled carpenter and at one time owned his own business building homes.

Henry will be remembered for his huge heart that was filled with so much love. It was his mission to make others smile. Your smile would fill his heart. His smile and laughter was infectious. Henry was funny and silly. He was friendly, so sweet and loving. Henry would talk to anyone, even people that he didn’t even know, like he had known them forever. Henry was the guy that would be there for you whenever you needed a hand. Henry loved his wife very much and their furry animals Bella, Izzy, Sassy, and most of all, his best friend and beloved dog Ava, who predeceased him in 2017.
