NORWAY – Priscilla J. Twitchell, 90, of Fore Street, Oxford, passed away peacefully, embraced by the love of her family, on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at the Norway Center for Health & Rehabilitation.

Priscilla was born in Keene, N.H. on Oct. 17, 1928, daughter of Hollis and Lillian Mae Brown. She married James E. Twitchell Sr. on June 23, 1945 and they enjoyed 62 happy years together.

Priscilla devoted her life to others, first as wife and mother, then as grandmother. She enjoyed her work with the Oxford County Extension and was a 4-H leader. She was a member of the Oxford Advent Christian Church for most of her life and taught Sunday School. She served for over 40 years as a cook and dining room matron at the Washington Advent Christian Campgrounds and the Mechanic Falls Advent Christian Campgrounds where she often had her granddaughters with her. She enjoyed wintering in Florida with her husband.

Priscilla also loved gardening, watching birds, crafting, and especially cooking and baking for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and recently, great-great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed by her family.

She is survived by two sons, James Twitchell Jr. (Mim) and Timothy Twitchell (Marleen); two daughters, Marie Davis and Elaine Larrabee; five granddaughters, Tara Twitchell, Diana-Marie Howe, Kristie Perkins, Stephanie Supry, and Loretta Larrabee; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Ellen Gilbert; and a special cat, Stubby.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, James; two brothers, Hollis Brown and Elwood Brown; and two sisters, Stella Dupont and Ruth Kimball.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9, at 2 p.m. at the Oxford Advent Christian Church.
