AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library has announced children’s events for February.

The library will be closed Monday, Feb. 18, in observance of Presidents Day.

Sprouts — 10 to 10:50 a.m. Saturdays, Feb. 9, and 23, in the Children’s Room. It is for newborns to 36 months and their caregivers. Heather will lead in songs, nursery rhymes and dancing.

Tiny Tunes — 10 a.m. Mondays, Feb. 11 and 25, in the Maggie Trafton Room. It is for babies, toddlers and preschoolers for a music and movement program. 

Pre-School Story Time — 10 a.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 13, 20, and 27 in the Maggie Trafton Room. It is for ages 3 to 5 with stories, songs and a craft.

KIDS! Read to a Dog — 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 12, 19, and 26, in the Children’s Room. Children can read to Mocha, Michael Fralich’s therapy dog. Call the library to register at 207-333-6640, ext. 3.

KIDS! Tinker Tuesday Paper Circuits — 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, in the Maggie Trafton Room. Learn how to make a simple circuit using copper tape, an LED fixture and a 3-volt battery. All materials will be provided by the library. Supplies are limited; register at 207-333-6640, ext.3.

KIDS! Crafternoon — 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, Valentine’s Day Cards in the Maggie Trafton Room. School-age children are welcome to make cards. All materials provided by the library. No cost.

KIDS! Saturday Stories — 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, in the Children’s Room. Local volunteer Judy D’Amour as she leads in interactive stories, rhymes, songs and a craft. The program is best for children ages 2 to 6. All are welcome.

KIDS! High Touch High Tech Science Gobs & Goo — 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the Maggie Trafton Room. Genia Sklute of HighTouch HighTech Science of Maine will present a special science, technology, engineering and math program titled “Gobs & Goo.” Make all kinds of substances, from space mud to science clay. The program is for ages 5 to 10. For more information, call the library at 207-333-6640, ext. 3.

KIDS! Library Bingo — 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, in the Maggie Trafton Room. In the game everyone has a chance to win a book. Best for second- to sixth-graders.

KIDS! Vacation LEGO Club — 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, the Maggie Trafton Room. This special vacation version of the monthly LEGO Club is for ages 5 and older and will include LEGOS. For more information, call the library at 333-6640, ext. 3.

KIDS! Happy Birthday Auburn Story Time — 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, in the Maggie Trafton Room. The event celebrating Auburn’s 150th birthday includes reading birthday stories, making a special birthday card, hearing stories and enjoying birthday cake.

KIDS! Farmers Market — 4:30 to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, in the Children’s Room. Children can plant seeds to get started on their own garden.
