LEWISTON — Talk titled “Our Plastic Lives: How Did We Get Here, What Can We Do,” 7 p.m., Bates College’s Pettengill Hall, Room G52. Environmental scientist Michael SanClements, author of “Plastic Purge: How to Use Less Plastic,” is the speaker. Program is free and open to the public.

TUESDAY

LEWISTON — School Committee building subcommittee meeting on proposed arts wing at Lewiston High School, 4:30-6:15 p.m., Dingley Building.

LEWISTON — Lewiston City Council workshop, 6 p.m., Council Chambers, City Hall. Agenda: Community Development Block Grant loan program, Lake Auburn alum treatment, local development code design guideline review and marijuana regulation.

AUBURN — Joint workshop with the Auburn School Committee and the Auburn City Council to discuss proposed Edward Little High School, 5:30-7 p.m., Auburn Hall. 

THURSDAY

LEWISTON — Great Falls Forum, noon to 1 p.m., Lewiston Public Library. Talk titled “Populism and Politics of Emotion,” by Bates associate professor Senem Aslan. Attendees encouraged to bring bag lunch.

Michael SanClements is scheduled to talk Monday night at Bates College about the health and environmental problem of plastics and how to use less.
