AUBURN – Marcel R. Morin, 87, of Lewiston, died Feb. 7, 2019, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn. He was born in Lewiston, son of Arsene and Yvonne (Tremblay) Morin on Sept. 6, 1931. He was a graduate of St. Dominic’s High School and attended the graduate school of savings banking at Brown University, class of 1967.
In 1951, he married Constance Jean, they had three children: Normand, Ronald, and Louise. Constance passed away in 2006. Marcel remarried Marguerite Lacasse in the fall of 2009. They enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida.
Marcel was involved in many organizations including past treasurer of A-L Rotary, past president of the local board of realtors, Holy Cross Golf League, Mental Health Advisory Council board member, Board of Finance for the City of Lewiston, past treasurer of the L-A Cancer Crusade, Tri County Mental Health board member, and a twelve year veteran of Maine Army National Guard, retiring as Battalion Sergeant Major.
The family wishes to remember Marcel for his zest for life, his dedication to his family, and his love for his family and friends.
He leaves behind his wife, Marguerite; his children, Normand and his wife, Anita, Ronald, and Louise and her husband, John Morin; grandchildren, Brianne and her husband, Dan Fokine, Alayna and her husband, Steve Marchessault, and Tyler; and three great-grandchildren, Leif, Soren and Sylvia.
Other survivors include a sister, Jeannine Chabot; two brothers, Ray and his wife, Joan, Bob and his wife, Alma; a younger brother, Fr. Maurice Morin died in 2013.

Visiting hours will be at The Fortin Group/Plummer Merrill Funeral Home in Auburn on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Friday at Holy Cross Church in Lewiston at 11:00 AM. Committal will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston. A Service of The Fortin Group/Plummer Merrill Funeral Home, Cremation and Monument Services, 217 Turner St., Auburn, Maine.
