AREA — Anyone traveling the roads on the morning of Tuesday Feb. 12 were greeted by spots of black ice that layered most roads. Two separate accidents took place within minutes of each other, both in Bethel.

At 7:45 a.m. Deputy Matthew McDonnell responded to a two vehicle accident on the West Bethel road. One female was taken to Stephen’s Memorial Hospital in Norway by Bethel Rescue with non-life threatening injuries. Bethel Fire Department helped direct traffic.

Both vehicles were towed.

Three minutes later, on Vernon Street, Deputy Josh Aylward responded to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Vernon Street and Bobs way. No injuries were reported but both vehicles were towed.

Two Telstar buses were also involved in minor accidents in Carrabassett Valley and on the Intervale Road in Bethel respectively.
