Priscilla E. Demers

AUBURN – Priscilla E. Demers, 78, of Auburn died on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, at Clover Manor Health Care Facility with her loving family by her side following a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston on Nov. 2, 1940, the daughter of the late William and Gladys (McKenney) Thurston and had been a resident of this community all of her life.

She was educated in Auburn schools and was a graduate of Edward Little High School Class of 1959.

She was a member of the Marstons Corner Baptist Church in Auburn where she was very involved with Family Life and Spiritual Growth.

Priscilla loved sewing, gardening, cooking and scrapbooking. She always gave encouraging notes to anyone to cheer up. The staff and residents of Clover Manor Health Care cherished and loved her. She loved Jesus with all her being and is now resting in his arms.

She is survived by her husband Normand R. Demers whom she married on Nov. 23, 1959, of Lewiston; two daughters Connie Staples of Oxford and Cheryl Foley and her husband Mitchell of Conquerall Bank, Nova Scotia, two sons William Demers and his wife Sherri of Spokane, Wash. and Brian Demers and his wife Caryl of New Hartford, N.Y.; one brother William Thurston of New Gloucester, Maine; 11 grandchildren; eight great -grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son Daniel Demers; two brothers Charles and Owen Thurston, and by a sister Sarah Grenier.

Funeral services honoring Priscilla’s life will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Marstons Corner Baptist Church at 752 Beech Hill Rd., Auburn, Maine 04210. Committal services will be held later in the spring at the Pine Street Cemetery in Auburn. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. till the time of the service at the Marstons Corner Baptist Church in Auburn. Arrangements by the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston 784-4023.
