NEW SHARON — The Board of Selectmen is hosting a Meet the Candidates Morning Social on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Cape Cod Hill School from 8 to 9:30 a.m. The first half hour will be a social and light refreshments will be available.
Candidate introductions will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will be followed by a question and answer session moderated by Paul Mills.
“There is one position open on the Ballot for Election,” said Town Clerk Pamela Griswold. “That being a Selectman for a three-year term.”
Chairman Bob Neal’s term is expiring. Candidates seeking to fill the seat are Paula Nason, Donald Richard, Joseph Rollins and Dennis McCourt, said Griswold.
Elections will be held Friday, March 1 at the Town Office from noon to 7 p.m. The Annual Town Meeting will be held on Saturday, March 2 at 9 a.m. The final warrant will not be ready until about Feb. 22, said Selectperson Lorna Nichols.
“These should be posted at the Town Office, the post office, Douin’s Market and Sandy River Farm Supply for the public to view,” she added.
