RUMFORD — There is an open call for local comics for 5- to 10-minute bits for Open Mic Comedy at 8 p.m. Friday, March 8, at 49 Franklin’s Mystic Theater.
49 Franklin owner and host Scot Grassette has several “seasoned” locals on the schedule but has a limited amount of spots open for any newcomers. Grassette says, “We had several people who have done this once and that’s good enough for them. It’s sort of a bucket list thing. People like to say they’ve done it. It’s really awesome because most are really good and could continue if they wanted to.”
Most of the material is clean but it’s open mic so there could be adult themes and language.
Doors will open at 6 p.m.. There will be trivia and prizes from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and the pub menu will be available with sandwiches, salads and fried food along with a cash bar. Show starts at 8.
